A) Daughter to be just like Mom: A cowgirl's Heart
There isn't much of a story here, yet, because Jaylen is only 14 months old, but she's already on her way to a lifelong love of horses, just like her mommy! Her eyes light up when she sees them, she squeals in delight at the mere mention of the word, and her favorite toy of all time is a bay stuffed horse to snuggle with.
She is a true Cowgirl Baby!

B) My daughter, Gaby, just turned two.
She is totally in love with the horses and has no fear. If I'm riding, she throws a fit until someone puts her on with me. She has scaled the round pen panels quite a few times to get in with her TB yearling, My Boy Lollipop, aka Peanut.

She is now starting to crawl in with our rescued weanling which she has named Butter. I guess that's what I get for letting a two year old name the horses?! Peanut and Butter will not go to the same shows together, but then again, maybe I should because I'm sure we'd definitely get the best laughs!

Growing up in the country has to be one of the best lives ever. I, however, grew up in a small subdivision, but couldn’t wait until Friday came every week. This was the time I was able to “get away” from it all and spend the weekend at my uncle’s Quarter Horse farm, just taking in the fresh air and enjoying the quiet relaxation of the great outdoors while trail riding. Hmmm, the memories. I began taking these “vacations” when I was 5 and continued to do so until I graduated high school.

This is the type of growing up I’m trying to establish for my daughter, Gaby. Experiencing the “farm” life gave me the feeling of having an importance and responsibility in caring and providing for other living creatures.

I want her to learn that while life is full of many things, you have to go to school to learn, but can also learn much responsibility and much about life while living on a farm. Kids will experience the excitement of birth, the trauma of losing a “beloved pet family member”, the needs of the animals for food and water, dependence and independence, among other things that just can’t be explained.

If you don’t live on a farm or in the country, take the time to visit a real, working farm. Trust me, once you get past the smell (LOL) you will see what is meant by “Country Life”.

C) My husband and I have three beautiful daughters.
They are 2,7 & 9 years old. We cannot keep them from our horses.

They love to drive them, ride them and just be with them all the time. We have always trail ridden in the beautiful bluff country of SE Minnesota where we live. Each of our daughters was on a horse before they were a week of age. We just recently started taking them to ranch rodeos and barrel racing for peewees. We would not have it any other way.

I grew up with horses and it is in my blood. They are such a wonderful way to learn about life and love (and sometimes, letting go). We have a wide variety of horses: miniatures, appaloosas, paints and even a pinto draft. They are all members of our family. I do not have just one story or picture to share, because there are so many when your life is blessed with horses and children. I just wanted to share a couple snippets of our lives.

Trying to comment on Story B

I love all the kids, but really like B!!!

Vicki Spina

voten B

The stories are all interesting but I found that the one that seemed to have the mose heart and feeling and way of life would have to be story B. it is all about tradition and apreciation, and together a bond that can last forever. Gabys story was one that I think will not end there but will be more than a story it will be a lifestyle. I Definately say B

story b gabby
