Growing up in my house, I knew waking up Easter morning that there was a basket from the Easter bunny on the counter. I still long to wake up and run into the kitchen looking for my basket! My mom would always pack it with goodies like chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies, gummy bunnies, and much more yummy candy! Sometimes we would get coloring books or small toys in the baskets too, making Easter almost as good as Christmas! Easter touches my heart by pulling the strings of beautiful memories, hearing the running on the wood floors and the laughter of me and my brother.

Now that I am a bit older, I know some of the history behind this religious Holiday, and yet there will never be anything better than a basket of chocolate goodies on Easter Sunday.

Don't feed your horse carrots

I thought you might enjoy this cute story about carrots on Easter.

My Easter tradition

When I was a kid, my sisters and brother and I would gather big handfuls of fresh green grass and make nests on newspaper behind the furniture. On Easter morning we would rush to find our baskets loaded with candy and small gifts. Sometimes we would have to find where the baskets were hidden. I continue this tradition with my daughter who even though she is almost 18, still wants a basket every year! I fix it up with candy and small gifts like a music CD, hand lotion, makeup or perfume and hide it somewhere inside the house. I no longer live where the grass grows so lush, but the memory and fresh smell of the grassy nests is dear to my heart to this day. Kat in Calif

Easter Holiday

I have never understood the make-up of the holiday called Easter. It's a religous holiday, rather it's been turned into a profit maker for Co's from Walmart to Sacks. I do not understand, nor do I judge anyone for their belief in anything.
The only thing I do know is that there is nothing more enjoyable than waking up early on any day, saddling up your horse and riding with the one you LOVE.

Happy Easter to all, and be safe

To hot to ride, But to nice not too!....
