Though I am a western rider at heart, my absolute FAVORITE breed ever is the Friesian. Their bodies are built with such power and strength, yet somehow they move as if they were ballet dancers. I love it when they are sleek and shiny, with the sun beating down on them, shining off of them, wind in their beautiful hair... etc! I like to think of myself in comparative to them, Beautiful, Graceful, Elegant, yet Strong and Powerful!

My dream is to be married and have a family. I have dreamed about my wedding day for years now, and I have the perfect idea! Rather than being walked down the isle, I will ride down the isle. Picture this: beautiful pink roses line the isle, my groom anxiously awaiting me in a black tux with a white rose. I am in a large bottomed, stapless white wedding dress with a long trail flowing behind me. What am I riding? A sleek, black Friesian, in his hair, pink mini roses. I am riding side saddle, naturally :) I ride up, my brother helps me dismount, and leads me up to my groom.

Can you tell I have though long and hard about this? Friesians are the top for me!

Anybody else in love with them?

Quarter Horses

I vote for the tried and true Quarter Horse.  I have always had one, and you can do virtually anything with them. I have trained one to plow and pull a ground slide. We also had one that my father stood on his back and cut the tops out of sugar cane. They are sane, athletic, and just good all around horses!!!

quarter horse

I've long admired the look of the Friesian, but I've never been around one in person to know much about them.  I have a Quarter Horse myself, that I use for everything, trail, speed show, I have shown her in pleasure classes, and trust her completely to put a kid on her that has never ridden.

Love of the Horse

I can see that you are a dreamer, for I believe it is only a dreamer that sees all the beauty of a horse, all of its' spirit and realizes the thunder of their feet is the same thunder in our hearts.
