I never knew it would be so much fun to celebrate my birthday and Knot-a-Tail's birthday in the same month!  I'm down-right honored and delighted.

We are still having the dratted computer problems (grrrrrr).  Please forgive me for not writing to you sooner to let you know I received the gorgeous keychain.  It is EXACTLY the one I was hoping for (HOORAY!HOORAY!), but as you well know, I am impressed by every single one of y'all's "mini-works of art".  I'd have been equally overjoyed with a single hair tied in a knot if it came from y'all.  :) 

But I digress.......  Back to my "you mean I actually WON something? I never win ANYTHING" keychain.....   It is absolutely beautiful!  I am so taken with it that I have decided NOT to put it on my keychain - I won't see it as much if I do that, and other folks won't see it at all.  I have put it on the strap ring of my little wrist purse that I carry with me everywhere.  You wouldn't believe how many compliments I have already gotten on it.  I tell every one of them where it came from and how to find y'all online.  [Side note: It is becoming clear that the folks I gifted those bracelets to are starting to hint for keychains next - hah!] 

Roberta, you are just the best ever, girl.  As I have said so many times before, your love for your customers (friends!), your laugh-out-loud humor, your impeccable business ethics, and your contagious joy for horses and life show through in everything you do.  This Knot-a-Tail Birthday Celebration and Giveaway is totally inspired and a wonderful gift of love to the group of folks that 'hang out' with you.  <huggityhughug>

Good Morning Ms Roberta I really want to Thank you for all the gifts and fun. Thanks for the extra gift for ordering. All this celebrating got me in the mood to finish the projects I started. So I ordered and I'm gonna get something else FREE! WOW!!! I really enjoyed visiting with you. You are just as nice on the phone as I thought you would be.
I forgot to tell you that back in  Dec you had a contest about what your horse means to you. I sent in a video about my little guy(not so little anymore) Vaulting. He is a special need kid. When he was little he did not know where he was in space. If you bumped him or he bumped into you he would fall all the way to the ground. Well, NOW he can stand on the horse while it's walking. Makes me cry to think about how far this guy has come. Anyway, I won a horsehair zipper pull for that entry. (It's in the picture I emailed you)

Now to why it would make my day to win. My friend Angie (who won a stampede string) and I are raising money for St Jude's Hospital (Which you are so graciously donating items to) and flying to Wyoming to ride with Lona (who also won a stampede string) on the trail ride. The attached picture of the Wyoming Wind Sock........ I think you're catching on. Now when we go on that trail ride my hats going to be flying off my head. I'd would love to be able to take a picture of all of us at the trail ride sporting our Knot-A-Tail Stampede String and send it to you. That would make my day!!!!! ~~~Maybe I can win one at the trail ride and take the pic and send it to you anyway!~~~~

Oh and I really love your Hitched Horsehair Bracelet's. The Indian design and all the beautiful colors! Love It!  I also love that I met you because of the Mustangs through R.T.Fitch. And met Lona through the Mustangs but that was because we were writing on a Mustang fan page together. They have brought use all together that Majestic, Faithful Companion the HORSE. And your items are so special to be from the same. Maybe, I'll be one of the 1000's and win it. I love that 4 of my friends have won and 2 of them twice. I really don't want to take away from anyone else. This has just been so fun. Sometimes you are compelled to do something and you think naa and you don't take the time. Then, other times something drives you to do it and you are rewarded 10 fold. That is what has happened for me during your Anniversary Celebration.

I got my first horse 2 years ago. It was a very exciting time for me to finally be able to have my own horse. When I met Fancy she was a 5 yr old Sorrel QH and I fell in love at first sight, and hearing her story only made me want her more. Fancy was rescued from a slaughter pen as a yearling. When she was rescued she was a yearling the size of a weanling and almost didn't survive. She was sick nearly a whole year after she was rescued, but she pulled through. She was first adopted from a lady in OH who she didn't stay with long, she returned to the rescue due to the owners divorce.

I got Fancy home in April 2008 and for our first year we got to really bond and know each other. I loved spending every minute I could at the barn with her.

In May 2009 Fancy was injuried by another horse in the pasture. Worst day of my life. After I got the call and rushed to barn Fancy was motionless in the pasture. Although she was standing...she could not walk without falling over. I was horrified when I called the vet thinking....this was it.....

vet came out but couldn't tell me much. We managed to hobble back to the barn. Within the next week I had 2 more vets come out who could not tell me what was wrong with my horse. When she would try to walk her front right leg would swing out and then under - like she couldnt control it.

She remained on stall rest - that was all the vets said I could do.

I called another vet, a vet clinic who specializes in horses, and horses only. And after talking to them over the phone the surgeon said 'thats sweeney shoulder'. So the next day we trailered her up and took her to the vet to confirm.  At least now I had an answer. But it was coming up with the money for the surgery that was the problem.

After a month of Fancy remaining on stall rest and still not having funds for the surgery, I had a friend borrow me the money and Fancy had her surgery June 30 2009. Her nerve was healed by the end of the year and now we are working on getting her muscle mass back to her shoulder.

During 2009 Fancy was on stall rest over 100 day, and in an injury pen over 100 days after that. Its amazing to be able to work with my girl again. Right now I am able to do ground work with her but no riding til she has more muscle.

I have big dreams for Fancy and I....she is such a strong horse and has been through so much in her short life. I look forward to the years ahead and showing people what alil time and patience can do for you, and your horse....there is nothing else like that bond you share :)

I am sitting here at computor looking at all your pretty stuff that you have made. I live with chronic headaches daily,

due to a blood clot in my head. I just started back riding my horses since being not allowed to ride.

I am not allowed to do to much do to my headaches. Is it to hard to learn the braiding and that in what is required to do what you do?

I wonder if it I can do that when I am sitting at the Doctors or Going to appointments??

I thought I finally got my dream horse - and now, while the perfect riding days are sliding by, I'm restricted because I fell (while trying to mount my smaller mare, Aria) and broke both bones in my lower leg. So it will easily be June or July before I can get on a horse again. Thank you Roberta for the Daily Oats and the community which both help me pass away these days of "keep it elevated and iced and NO WEIGHT BEARING!"

Congratulations on your 1-year online anniversary.   I found your website when I was looking for a leather or horsehair bracelet to give my brother-in-law for Christmas.  What struck me right away was the apparent quality of your products for what I think are extremely reasonable prices.  I've looked at this kind of jewelry on MANY websites and nothing compares to your selection.  The designs are exquisite.  And kudos on keeping this traditional artcraft alive.  I grew up in north central Washington state ... a very rural area.  The neighbor across the street was a real life cowboy, and we spent many hours watching him shoe his own horses (the old fashioned way with the hot forge), geld the stallions, brand the calves, etc.   We had free access to his string of horses and we took good advantage of it.  Imagine 3 or 4 young teenage girls hiking out across a sagebrush & bunch grass pasture carrying bridles and a coffee can of oats, shaking the oats as we walked along.  The horses wanted the oats, so we slipped on the bridles while they ate and jumped on board (we all rode bareback in those days).  After a few little half-bucks and some prancing, they settled down and off we went on our adventures.

While I'm a Denver city girl now (a CPA for 20+ years), I still try and make it "home" at least once a year and since my sister has horses, rekindle my love of riding.  The older I get, the more I appreciate the simple things in life that are learned and enjoyed in rural life, where communities are tight-knit and everything is shared.

Growing up in Detroit didn't leave much opportunity to own a horse, but I always wanted one. Finally, after moving to Tennessee, last summer I finally got my big baby ! Skywatch's Gladiator CHF is a 9 year old Tennessee Walking Horse gelding. He's just the sweetest boy, all my friends call him a 1000 pound Golden Retriver, LOL. So, it took 52 years, but the Detroit City kid finally got her horse !

I love your products, they are on my "wish lists" for all the upcoming birthdays and anniversarys !

Winning something from knotatail would make my day not just becuase i love all their products but because it would cheer me up. I just found out that the farm that my spouse and I wanted has been sold. We have dreamed about this farm for the past year, we came up with an addition for the house that we would add, where we would keep the horses, we even went out their a couple tiimes a month to just sit on the deck and dream. But now that dream is over. We have been struggling with money lately due to the fact that my spouse gotl laid off, so the farm was keeping us strong. I am new to the world of Knot a Tail, but I'm already a HUGE fan!!! You have such amazing products and such an interesting sight! My 3yr old daughter squeeled with excitement when she saw the birthday cake with the horses on it. She gave three of the horses that she saw on it the names of three of our horses, Denny (Daddy's QH), Trouper (Mommy's Mustang), and Surfer (her Paint/cross pony).

I LOVE the horse hair belt!!! That is awesome and would look great with the Extreme Mustang Makeover Trainer belt buckle that I hope to order as soon as I have the extra money. The concho bracelets are also beautiful!! Heck! Everything you have here is so lovely.
